Sensory Specialist (m/f/divers)

Aufgaben

As Sensory Specialist you are partner on project teams to lead sensory and consumer research in R&D Projects/Programs to drive consumer-centricity and guide decision-making. You are leading and managing sensory and consumer product studies for PTC/R&D centre projects and Markets.

A day in the life of a Sensory Specialist:

  • Deliver consumer and sensory insight to Innovation and Renovation projects as a partner to project managers and active member of cross-functional teams. 
  • Assure early-phase collaboration between R&D and Business to define Sensory & Consumer Testing Strategy at early stage in the NPDI process, ensuring 60 40 wins. 
  • Manage sensory & consumer product testing studies with excellence having clear and time bound plans from start to finish (plan, design, analysis, reporting, presentation of results).
  • Ensure high quality of sensory data through panel maintenance and performance together with panel leader.
  • Coach and support the Panel Leader and Technician to reach excellence in execution. 
  • Promote the proper use of sensory evaluation and consumer testing within the PTC and across Nestlé (e.g. OGF, markets).
  • Adapt, apply and improve sensory and consumer methods by leveraging outside connections and latest scientific research. 
  • Develop and maintain networks with NRC, other R&D centres and SBUs, actively contribute to S&CP Network. 
  • Ensure functional support to the SBU, markets & factories in the category, driving the application of best practise 6040+ methodology, supporting the markets in their renovation initiatives if required, providing sensory and consumer research trainings.
  • Support PrIME Knowledge building in product categories (identify consumer and sensory preference drivers, promote proper use of PrIME tools).

Profil
  • Academic background in food science, food technology or similar at Masters and/or PhD level. 
  • At least several years of experience in Sensory analysis including a sound knowledge and experience of a wide range of sensory analysis techniques and their application.
  • Experience in consumer product testing. 
  • Strong knowledge of Statistics.
  • Sensory Properties of FMCG.  
  • At ease to work efficiently in a multi-cultural and multi-functional environment.
  • Experience in FMCG, from R&D and business side is a plus.
  • Problem solving and solution finding.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (incl. presentations).
  • Good knowledge of German language required and fluent in English (spoken and written).
  • Computer skills (MS Office, FIZZ, RedJade or similar, Excel Stats or similar).
